To Know Him and Make Him Known
So, the joke goes, “Wanna know the fastest way to make God laugh? Tell Him about your plans.” There’s more truth to this joke than is comfortable to admit. Join us this morning as we examine James’ instructions for how we should (and SHOULDN’T) make plans as Christians.
Because we are frail humans, we all need to depend on someone or something to survive. We can choose to depend on human sources of sustenance, but they can’t deliver because they won’t last. Or we can choose to depend on God, our strong, faithful, compassionate King – who always keeps His promises to us.
It is easy for us to imagine God as being so highly exalted over us that He is emotionally disconnected from us, maybe even disinterested in us and our plight. However, this is not at all the way Isaiah pictures God. Join us this morning as we look deeply into the heart of our God…
