God is the source of all love because He is love personified; His nature as a three-in-one God shows us that love is not something that God does from time to time, but something that He is – and He created us to share in that love.
None of us is good at loving as God does, which is why He graciously teaches us to love by loving us first and offering us His love. When we receive it and learn to remain in it, He gives us the ability to reciprocate His love and then redirect it to those around us.
We all long to be “successful,” but it’s important to understand how God defines success. While we might be tempted to think that success = obedience (or discipline), God has defined success as loving Him. If this is true, our goals and pursuits must change.
The call to responsibility demands that we “own” the mess in front of us and get to work cleaning it up, making sure we’re doing it for the right reasons. Boaz did this faithfully, as did his famous descendant Jesus, as an example for us to follow today.
God calls us to be catalysts, taking responsibility to “nudge” our brothers and sisters towards fulfilling their obligations, even if it’s risky, because we trust Him with outcomes.
